When the BOSS gets married

Its one thing to be filming a wedding, but its totally another form of experience being on the other side of things. Like what some mentioned, its finally my turn to experience this rite of passage.

The rest of the team from Lighthouse Studio then took on the role to film our wedding, putting in more plans than usual to ensure all aspects of the wedding are well taken care of, and are well documented.

All I can say is that the wedding day passed by ultra fast, and I did not fall into the “trap” of micro-managing my video crew as there was simply no time to do so, and I had already relayed some of the ideas and thoughts of how i desired the production to turn out.

Thanks guys for the lovely memories you have documented, the extra dedication in doing beyond 200%.

Emotive is the Word (Highlights of Douglas & Michelle)

We’ve filmed many couples and each wedding is always beautifully and wonderfully unique. For Douglas and Michelle, the wedding was emotive to say the least. When Douglas serenaded to Michelle, everyone could see that he was singing from his heart. The song meant so much more than an expression of love but a commitment to be together forever. The couple even wrote their own vows which was a testament of their journey and their mutual pledge towards a new life together. Congratulations Douglas and Michelle. I hope this video captures the spirit of the day and bears witness to your love for each other.

Wedding Highlights of Joshua & Kathleen

Joshua and Kathleen live in the same block and the way they met was…unique. We were privileged to film their love story and their actual day highlights. Check out their love story here. The enthusiasm of Joshua and Kathleen was infectious and the celebratory mood was apparent to see. Kudos to Joshua for willing to eat the whipped cream, wherever it was.

The Italian Job

Italy comes to Singapore as Eugenio and Georgina tie the knot. It was hilarious to see Eugenio and his multi ethnic band of brothers gate crash Georgina’s house. This was especially so after the sisters made the groom’s men eat the much dreaded DURIANS. Nonetheless, Eugenio and his groomsman gamely ate the king of fruits. It was really fun to film them on the outdoor shoot as the cameras really loved them. Beautiful day, gorgeous couple and great wedding video. L’amore è nell’aria.

Daren & Eileen

We’re back! Many apologies for our tardiness in maintaining the blog. Suffice to say, we have been swamped with projects. BUT we’re good now. So expect more posts. :)

Daren went all out to ensure his then bride-to-be Eileen had a really memorable proposal, including inviting us to be a part of the “secret scheme”.

Fast forward one year later, we shared some of their crazy moments in this video incorporating their fun filled wedding day.

It was our pleasure to be a part of your proposal nite, solemnization and your BIG day! Congrats!

Eileen: Good Job Ming Song, Xiao Dong & Co! >_< All of you made these events even more memorable. Cheerz! =P

Solemnisation Express Video for Alvin & Rachel

Producing beautiful Express Videos at wedding dinners are not as easy as people think! This is because good editing requires time and effort. The minimum time usually required to edit the wedding footages, filmed in the morning, is between 4 to 5 hours. Therefore, solemnisation ceremonies held just before the dinner banquets would typically not be included in Express videos as there is less than 1 to 2 hours to edit them.

Alvin came to us one day and asked us if we could help film his wedding video. He felt that it would be meaningful to share moments of his solemnization with his dinner banquet guests and asked if we could fulfil his wish. Being confident of pulling it off and crazy enough to take up the challenge, we readily agreed.

This special couple, Alvin & Rachel, have known each other since secondary school. Alvin had a crush on Rachel since then but was too shy to court her then. This friendship gradually developed into love later on. It was clear to us from the gatecrash to the outdoor shoots at Upper Pierce Reservoir and Pierce Secondary school that they strongly loved each other. We wish you, Alvin and Rachel, a blessed wedding. May your relationship grow deeper in understanding and intimacy.

Lighthouse goes Live View for Wedding Banquets – wedding of Eugene & Chia Chia

We were eagerly anticipating the wedding celebration of Eugene & Chia Chia. It has been a blessing for us to witness the wedding of Eugene and Chia Chia. The fun filled duo contacted us the very next day after watching one of our express videos during her friend’s wedding (Wee Lee & Pei Yi).

Eugene also planned out an exciting proposal which we edited to share their story. For the record, he proposed in front of a few thousand people. To know more about them and their “Whirlwind Romance” as well as their touching proposal, check out the proposal video segment below.

On their wedding day, Eugene’s band of brothers gamely laid on the tarmac road with their “Armani Suits” . Many residents were definitely impressed with Eugene’s proclamation of love to Chia Chia. During the dinner banquet, Eugene and Chia Chia’s guests were able to catch glimpses of them as they prepared to enter the banquet hall. This was made possible because of the wireless live feed for the dinner banquet. However, we have been sworn to secrecy and thus won’t show the intro video to their march in. All we can say is that, “Eugene, you look really chio!”

Church Wedding of Kenneth & Jolin

[vimeo http://vimeo.com/5519245]

We are really having difficulty to keep up with the updates on the entries on our blog with the videos that we do for our clients. We will be attempting to post out all the recent videos we have done through the months of May, June and now July. I shall kick start our “backlog” again with the beautiful wedding of Kenneth & Jolin which happened on 6-June this year.

There is just that something about Church Weddings that just brings out that sacredness in the celebration of marriage. Kenneth & Jolin certainly expressed their joy and happiness on their wedding day. We will try to grab a few screen frames and share with you soon. Meanwhile, please enjoy the video.

The couple also maintains a wedding blog, you may wish to visit their site to see how they have prepared for their wedding.

Wedding Highlights of Wilson & Kaiting

http://vimeo.com/5639628

This was yet another couple that got together from the days our our hostel living in NTU Hall 5. For those who have been following our blog, Eric & Candy, as well as Tevin & Jas were the few other couples that Lighthouse Studio had the privilege to help record their wedding celebrations. We all heard this couple got to know each other better, thanks to the Inter-Hall Games of DARTS. Thus it was quite fitting that Wilson had to “shoot” his way through to win his bride. Here’s some video screen grabs for you to get a quick preview of whats in the video.

During the dinner banquet, the talented Wilson Fu (younger brother of the bride) also performed an excellent rendition of Jason Mraz’s I’m Yours…. by the way, the bride’s younger brother is also called Wilson. So today on the 11-July-2009, the Fu family also welcomed Wilson Tham as the son-in-law of the family.

Our best reward for us is to see those smiling faces of the banquet guests when the highlights video is being played. For Wilson & Kaiting, they took up my suggestion to arrange the video to be shown while they are in the ballroom to enjoy the show as well. Check out the groom’s expression in the centre of the collage picture while the bride is happily laughing away.

Wedding of Melvin & Francisca

I remember the first meeting with Melvin & Francisca in our studio. In planning for their special big day, they were clear on documenting their celebrations and especially placing emphasis of their holy matrimony at the church.

Fast forward to their wedding day on 1-May-2009. You could sense their sweetness for each other in those little things they do. They instinctively kissed each other as they walked out from their ceremonial church wedding, and ready to begin their life as man and wife.

Father Joseph Tan who presided over their wedding and gave them his blessings and also some important words of advice:

“This is My commandment: ‘Love one another as I have loved you'”

John 15:12

Congrats to Melvin & Francisca, it was a joy to document your wedding, and sharing the happiness of your celebrations as you say “I do”.

The relatives of Francisca were really thoughtful, and prepared a brilliant surprise for her and Melvin. Being ardent supporters of FM972, Uncle Chua Boon Seng, Aunt Siew Gek, Siew Hiang all sent their congratulatory note to the couple live on-air through the DJ Chen Jian Bing.
