Yusheng and Wedding Videos

Recently, I went to a Lunar New Year party. The party was at a dear friend’s house who had been married for over 15 years. Like any good party , it was a good time of hanging out with great food accompanied by the ubiquitous yusheng.

Out of the blue, my friend flashed out her wedding video. Wedding videos and yusheng were an interesting combination, to say the least. It was interesting for me, being in the wedding scene to see how wedding videos have progressed from the beta cams of the past to the contemporary DSLRs.  The wedding video was really a time capsule of a time, capturing what was considered trendy, 15 years ago. Beehive hairstyles, floral dresses, the works. It was really hilarious to see my friend in the video, sulking as her husband arrived ….without the bouquet of flowers. 15 years later, she still chided her husband over the “missing bouquet”. We were all in stitches over the incident. Good memories.

The wedding video also showed her beloved mother-in-law mingling with the guests. Those recorded images were one of the only videos of her. She had recently passed away and my friend was really grateful that she could still see her in the wedding video.

The current trend of wedding companies nowadays is to produce the highlights. I sometimes wonder if 8mins of a wedding highlights video, often with an overpowering soundtrack that masks over the voices of the wedding day, is really enough to encapsulate an entire day’s events. Images and music, is that enough?

We believe in giving to our clients a wedding documentary alongside our beautiful wedding highlights video.  We strongly believe that in time to come the wedding documentary might be watched more than the highlights video itself as we capture that special day for years to come . While time may pass and memories become fussy, you can always bring out the wedding documentary during the Lunar New Year and watch it again over a plate of yusheng.

Wedding Video of Jonathan and Kai Jin – Capturing those precious moments for life

You know that you have a good video in your hands not just when a series of beautiful pictures start showing on the screen. You know you have good video when those priceless moments are captured. Moments as fleeting as vapour but priceless none the less. The look of the groom as he sees his bride walking down the aisle, the quivering voice of the bride as she pledges her union with her love, the chortling laughter of friends during the gatecrash, small tears that were shed and a nod of approval from the relatives when the groom announces his commitment to the bride. It’s these moments , I for one would want to see over and over again.

How to have fun in your own wedding: John and Winnie

It was fantabulous to film the wedding of John and Winnie! The couple sure knew how to throw a party for their wedding. While we have seen many themed weddings. This is one which their friends dressed up for the Alice in Wonderland theme.

You could really tell that they were so loved by many. From the best man’s speech to the hilariously funny surprise dance item by their friends. Everything celebrated their love for one another. One of the highlights of the day was probably John and Winnie’s first dance. The beautiful couple danced with such grace and elegance that it was certainly mesmerizing.

When the BOSS gets married

Its one thing to be filming a wedding, but its totally another form of experience being on the other side of things. Like what some mentioned, its finally my turn to experience this rite of passage.

The rest of the team from Lighthouse Studio then took on the role to film our wedding, putting in more plans than usual to ensure all aspects of the wedding are well taken care of, and are well documented.

All I can say is that the wedding day passed by ultra fast, and I did not fall into the “trap” of micro-managing my video crew as there was simply no time to do so, and I had already relayed some of the ideas and thoughts of how i desired the production to turn out.

Thanks guys for the lovely memories you have documented, the extra dedication in doing beyond 200%.

3D Montages a growing trend

Looking for something unique and new in your wedding? Lighthouse Studio introduces 3D montages (no goggles required). We were growing tired with the typical photo slideshows aka powerpoint style, with their cliche transitions. After a while, one looses attention to the photo slideshow pretty fast. Why not make something great to watch and still base it on photos? We decided to bring “life” to photos enabling them to interact with one another. It’s a WOW factor to most who have seen it. Check it out.
